Cambodia part three: some more temples!

part three of my cambodian adventure continues...

date: 8 December 2010
We started the day with Breakfast at out 'palace', Banana Pancakes and fruit shakes down by the pool. Aaron the tour guide took us out to see some more temples today. We went to Prasat Bayon and saw the smiling faces
We also had an elephant ride around the temple, which was a little bumpy, but fun!

It was such a hot hot hot day. We sweltered as we toured around the temple and Aaron explained the meaning of all the carvings. It was amazing to see some things that are still used to this day, such as carts and baskets.

After lunch, we headed out to the Salt Ministry Orphanage to meet some old friends and see the orphanage in action. Salt Ministry looks after about 130 children and they are each part of a family with about 16 children in the complex. There are about 9 of these families, which include a mother and father with their natural children and the rest made up of orphaned or disadvantaged kids. Run by Tim and Wendy, who have dedicated their lives to the county and her children. Have a look at the website and read the story of Ouy,  Suk, and Somphos.

{Suk today, playing with a fan}

We ended the day with dinner and traditional dancing, falling asleep before my head hit the pillow...
