Caramel slice for Camille

Hello,
I never tried to make caramel slice before. I thought it would be too hard, but I was wrong! It is actually really easy, and 10 times better when you make it your self.

I made the slice as a present for my friend Camille, as it is her very favourite!

INGREDIENTS:
125g melted butter
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup brown sugar
90g butter
410g tin if condensed milk
2 tblsp golden syrup
250g chocolate

RECIPE:
1. Preheat oven to 180C. To make the base, combine melted butter, coconut and brown sugar. Line tin/baking dish with baking paper and press biscuit mixture into it with the bck of a spoon. Bake for 20 minutes.

2. In a saucepan, melt together the butter, condensed milk and golden syrup for 10-15 minutes until it thickens and darkens slightly.

Pour over base and bake for another 15 minutes until bubbling and golden.
3. Melt chocolate and pour evenly over cooled slice. Refridgerate until set.

Serve with Champagne if so desired. You won't regret making it, it is just so yummy!

Tea Party Sun dress

Good morning!
We are having a lazy Saturday morning, so I thought I would catch up on some blogging. I made this project a little while back (as in almost a year), but haven't had the chance to show you yet. It is another project by oliver + s. One day I will have them in my shop... sigh...

The dress was made out of a plain and patterned heavy drill fabric, perfect for winter. The dress took about 2.5 hours, not too bad as there isn't anything too tricky to do like zips or crazy seams to trick me up.

The cutest pattern you ever did see!

The finished dress

I hand covered the buttons and am really happy with how they turned out.

The dress was made for Chloe's photo shoot with the AMAZING Robeccer McLean. She did our wedding photos and asked if she could 'borrow' CHloe to use in her portfolio. I said yes of course! Below are some of the beautiful images that Robeccer took

Want to see more of her work? Visit her site and blog here. Next time I will share my beautiful wedding photos if you like?

Key lime pie

I have discovered that not only do I love baking, I'm not too bad at it either! Yesterday I made key lime pie, as limes were really cheap at the supermarket

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup shredded coconut
125g melted butter
4 egg yolks
400ml condensed milk
5 limes, juiced

RECIPE:
1. To make to crust, mix melted butter, flour, sugar and coconut. Press evenly into a pie dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 175C for 10 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, wisk the egg yolks and add the condensed milk until smooth. Add lime juice and the pour into the pie crust.

3. Return to the oven and cook for 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack then refrigerate for 6 hours.
4. Serve with whipped cream if you like, or enjoy a slice or two as it is for morning tea!

A quilt for Alexis

I finally finished the quilt I made for my new niece Alexis.

Made from a pattern I modified, I used 6 big pinwheels in pastel polkadot fabrics. I picked them up a while ago at quilt show and was waiting for the perfect pattern. The original pattern had stitching all over the borders which would have taken SO long! I decided to remove the embroidery and shrink the borders. What do you think?

Thanks to my mum for quilting it so beautifully!
