I never tried to make caramel slice before. I thought it would be too hard, but I was wrong! It is actually really easy, and 10 times better when you make it your self.
I made the slice as a present for my friend Camille, as it is her very favourite!
125g melted butter
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup brown sugar
410g tin if condensed milk
2 tblsp golden syrup
1. Preheat oven to 180C. To make the base, combine melted butter, coconut and brown sugar. Line tin/baking dish with baking paper and press biscuit mixture into it with the bck of a spoon. Bake for 20 minutes.
2. In a saucepan, melt together the butter, condensed milk and golden syrup for 10-15 minutes until it thickens and darkens slightly.
Pour over base and bake for another 15 minutes until bubbling and golden.
3. Melt chocolate and pour evenly over cooled slice. Refridgerate until set.
Serve with Champagne if so desired. You won't regret making it, it is just so yummy!
