New patterns from Acorn Quilt and Gift Company

Hello my lovely quilting friends!

I have two beautiful new quilt patterns fresh from the States. They are some very cute boys and girls projects by Brenda Riddle from the Acorn Quilt and Gift Company. You can visit her blog here

Betsy's Closet features 9 blocks with some very cute little girl's outfits. I think it will be a great way to use up some of your favorite stash that were waiting for the perfect project. Add your own embellishments to the clothes; buttons, ribbon, ric rac or lace. Why not personalise it with fabric and notions from vintage dresses and finds?

Benji's Pockets will be a great project for your little man. It features some of the best boy appliques of toys and outfits, sure to delight both young and old. Check out the corners! There is the opportunity to add shoelaces, crayons, string and lollipops etc, maybe even something you have found in your little boys pockets?

Visit the store to purchase these patterns today, before they run out!

Perth

Good Morning,

Today we are having a fairly quiet day in Perth. We arrived (late) on Thursday and had one VERY tired two year old girl. Chloe didn't sleep until I stood up to get off the plane... Still recovering.

The reason we are in Perth is to celebrate my Grandma's 90th Birthday. What an achievement! Last week however, she was diagnosed with a tumor in her lung and the dotor said it had spread to her liver. Not a good prognosis, but she is very positive and doesn't want us to be sad. Hard not to, but we will be celebrating her long life with a few laughs, a few tears and lots of love.

Well, I best be off as I stole the computer from my Dad when he got up to go to the bathroom! Haha got to be quick!

Free Pattern Friday - Noah's Ark Stitchery

Usually I do my Friday post in the afternoon, when Chloe has her afternoon nap. Today we went to the zoo, so when we all got home, I had to have a nap too! My mum drummed it in to me 'when the baby sleeps, you sleep'. Does it matter that the baby is now two??

Yes, that is the Telstra Tower in the background.

So, for today's free pattern, I have decided to use Lynette Anderson's Noah's ark stitchery. I have started mine, have gathered the fabrics. Just need to find some time to transfer the design to the fabric and start stitching! You can find the download on Lynette's blog here.

Hope you enjoy!

Free Pattern Friday
I love a free pattern and have decided to share with you the freebies I have found on my web travels. Pin cushions are really popular at the moment, so I have found a really cute one at the goody-goody site here. Have fun making this little bug!

Thought you might all like to see some close ups of the appliques from the quilt as it's a bit hard to see them in the other photo. They are pretty cute, and I enjoyed stitching them

As I am now back on line (thanks to the Mac doctors), I will be able to post more frequently. Going to start a new thread called Free Pattern Friday. I love a freebie and since I shouldn't be the only one with the fun, I have decided to share them with you. So stay tuned - to be published tomorrow!
Till then,

Finished Teddy Bear Quilt

I finished my teddy bear quilt for my little nephew Oliver.  I missed giving it to him when he was born (3 months early at 1.2kg), then still didn't have it for Christmas, but he did get it.

I got the pattern from an Australian quilting magazine and it did need some modification, as the pattern didn't quite match. I loved making it, and know Oliver enjoys it. Onto the next quilt for the new niece!
